About Robert French, DO
“My journey into medicine began on the football field where, as a college athlete, I spent more time on the training table than in the game. Those experiences introduced me to a variety of sports medicine physicians and inspired my desire to help others return to what I call ‘the best version of themselves.’ Over time I developed a care philosophy that focuses on treating the whole person by addressing not only symptoms but the many factors that influence overall health and well being.
“I am happy to see patients of all ages with special areas of interest in joint pain, tendon injuries, dietary management and medication and supplement optimization. I offer nonsurgical treatment for a range of musculoskeletal conditions including ultrasound guided injections, Iovera and other advanced procedures.
“My path to sports medicine grew naturally from my background in family medicine. In medical school I discovered a genuine enjoyment in caring for patients across all stages of life and family medicine provided me with the broad clinical experience to do so. Sports medicine became a natural focus, allowing me to combine my medical training with my athletic background to help patients meet their functional goals. Today I am proud to bring that expertise to the community and working with The University of Texas at Tyler athletics is a rewarding bonus.”
Dr. French is employed as a clinical faculty physician at The University of Texas at Tyler Health Science Center under the UT Tyler School of Medicine.
